Our Program

Our Approach

Winston Place is client centered and client focused. We meet weekly to discuss the opportunities and needs of the individual client. From there, the resident and support team work together to design a living day-to-day recovery plan. Our phases are not denoted by any allotment of time, rather they provide a path forward to our residents as they each progress at their own pace.

Four Phases

01

Phase 1 – Welcome & Stabilization

We believe the introductory period upon arrival is a significant time for acclimation and building a foundation for a new way of life. During this phase, we encourage residents not to work and limit certain personal privileges. This allows for easier integration into the community and provides our staff time to get to know the resident’s needs and goals.

02

Phase 2 – Structured Freedom

After acclimation, we encourage our residents to feel useful and engage in outside responsibilities. This can include occupational work, pursuing higher education or securing a volunteerism commitment. Here, residents are able to use the power of the group and accountability tools to deal with the stresses of daily living while in a structured environment.

03

Phase 3 – Contribution

As residents begin to evolve in their recovery, we ask them to take leadership roles within our community. Leading house meetings, monitoring house chores and providing support to newer residents allows them to find a higher mastery of newly acquired life skills while still receiving support.

04

Phase 4 – Making a Change

The focus of Winston Place is to support men with a solid foundation in recovery, encouraging them to make a change into the world as their most authentic self. We hope to prepare our residents to manage life on life’s terms with their newly found skills. Our alumni program also offers our residents lifetime access to all Winston Place events as well as weekly zoom meetings with other alumni and support staff.
